What you'll accomplish

  • Design and develop embedded software to operate quantum computing hardware
  • Assess third party and open-source software
  • Benchmark using quantum computing algorithms and optimize software
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team of electronic engineers, physicists, hardware designers and software developers
  • Document the systems you help design, build, and maintain
  • Take responsibility of major features within the Quantum Computing Software Stack

    The 3 most critical attributes we'll use to compare candidates

    1. Solid programming experience in C, C++, and Python
    2. Experience designing, developing, debugging, testing , maintaining, and profiling commercial quality embedded software
    3. Collaborative team player with good communication skills

    Other must-have skills

    • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, debugging, testing , maintaining, and profiling software using C, C++
    • Writing readable, high integrity, efficient, and well documented code
    • Experience writing software to interface with FPGA's / ASIC
    • Designing low level schedulers for time aligning hardware operation
    • Experience developing, and interfacing with device drivers
    • Experience with serial communication protocols (ideally I2C, SPI, USB)
    • Pragmatic approach to decision-making and design choices
    • Previous experience in start-ups or dynamic work environments


    “Nice to have" skills

    • Python development experience
    • Developing RISC compilers
    • Familiarity with Linux Based OS
    • Experience working with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, eg)
    • Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
